ELISA GÓMEZ VILLERIAS

Textile artist and creator of Casa Doce Dieciséis

My textile work is born from slow time: the patient listening of color, the intuition of gesture, and the constancy of thread moving forward without haste. I embroider to understand what the eye does not always reach: inner rhythms, memories that persist, and the layers life deposits without us noticing.

Each work becomes a territory where I observe how matter changes, how movement transforms into mark, and how the ephemeral finds a possible form. My textile practice is, above all, an exercise in contemplation: a search for growth, transformation, and emotional resonance.

Casa Doce Dieciséis is built between the Yucatán Peninsula and the paths through which the work travels. Each piece lives with the climate, natural pigments, local fibers, and the light that moves through this region.

For me, these works are spaces of silence and discovery. Thank you for approaching this universe made of threads, pauses, and life.
