Casa Doce Dieciséis is the artistic project of Elisa Gómez Villerías, dedicated to contemporary embroidery on linen and cotton. Through slow and intuitive processes, her work explores color, movement, memory, and transformation as ways of observing what changes, remains, and finds new directions.
Each piece emerges from repetition, stillness, and the handmade gesture. Stitch by stitch, rhythms, densities, and structures are built, revealing an intimate relationship between matter, time, and sensitivity.
The collections Crecimientos, Interfases, and Huella bring together textile works created between 2020 and 2026. Each series investigates a different dimension of matter: the organic expansion of color, the spaces of transition between forms, and the quiet marks that remain after change.
Crecimientos
Movement, expansion, mutation.
How does a form grow?
Crecimientos brings together hand-embroidered textile works born from the observation of internal processes of transformation.
Without a predetermined structure, each piece develops intuitively. Color, form, and density gradually emerge through repetition, building compositions that find their own logic and direction.
COLLECTION CARDS
Interfases
The point where one gesture becomes another.
What happens when different languages occupy the same surface?
Interfases explores fabric as a territory of experimentation. Before embroidery, the surface is intervened with watercolor, acrylic, and marker; afterward, thread moves through those layers, connecting scattered elements and building new relationships between color, line, and form.
Huella
The memory matter leaves as it transforms.
What remains?
Huella explores the transformation of matter through natural dyes obtained from seeds, leaves, and bark. The dyed surfaces become the starting point for embroidery, incorporating variations, marks, and tonalities that arise from organic processes that are difficult to control.
Color moves forward without haste. The thread breathes.
Each work is a territory where matter changes, transforms, and the ephemeral finds form.
